Interview Questions
- What are your strengths? Weaknesses?
- My strengths are found in my communication skills. Early on I was trained in how to listen and confirm what others are communicating to me. To the best that I am able I like to make sure I understand what others are saying and what their expectations are of me.
As for weaknesses I sometimes struggle with being creative at all times. In developing the architecture for various web applications I find what appears as time wasted while I am attempting to determine a plan for developing the solution. To solve this I've started writing my writing my thoughts as I ponder the problem. This has helped me to stay focused on the immediate issue and arrive at my final architecture much quicker than just "trying to figure it out in my head."
- What are you most passionate about?
- Learning. I feel that to get the most out of life one needs to be a perpetual student. I consider myself a curious person and I love to read and experience things outside of my normal routine so that I can continue to develop as a person. The benefit is that overtime I am able to take what I've observed in other disciplines and apply them to situations under my control. In turn this benefits not only my personal goals but others around me who depend on me to discover solutions to their problems.
- Why did you choose this career?
- In one part I was destined for it. My parents worked for IBM and my brother works for Microsoft. Its in the blood. Computers have been in and near my home since childhood. I enjoy technology and in a way I have a knack for it. And if you have to work, why not do something you like?
